MaLa Contemplative Education
is an organization that I founded in 2013 and became a not-for-profit in 2018. Our mission is to bring contemplative practices such as mindfulness, conscious movement, intentional living, and other contemplative practices to a variety of different communities such as hospitals, county offices, libraries and schools.
MaLa’s contemplative education core program is a 100 hr training for MaLa Mindfulness Facilitators which is held twice a year in the Western New York area.
We also offer MaLa circles in various organizations in Western New York, such as the Public Libraries, Erie County Rath ,Building and SaCRa. Please contact us to set up a circle in your organization
A Mala circle offers a supportive space for exploring, practicing and deepening contemplative practices, regroup, share and be in community. The first part of the circle is about centering, conscious breathing, stretching and movement. In the second segment we drop into quietening the mind practice and the third segment is about integrating and sharing our experiences and to explore Wisdom teachings and contemplative poetry.
Additionally, we regularly offer the 8 week “Alchemy of Contemplative Living “ course as an introduction to the basic tenets of the MaLa Curriculum.
